Curriculum Vitae

Painter and art expert, founder of the Verticalismus art movement.

Athanasio Celia's abstract artwork dominated by vertical lines and known as "safe art" because of its preparation with fire that makes it immune to forgery. Since the eighties this specific art became a movement (everybody is able to draw verticals and they are unique and individual as fingerprints) recognizable with the term Verticalismus. The founder of Verticalismus, Athanasio Celia, said "the first attempt of the mankind to draw was a line and it was drawn by the only vertical being which is the human being". Athanasio Celia wrote also the manifesto of the "Verticalismus theory" which is a scientific analysis of the physic-mathematics first dimension which is clearly the line.

Verticalismus

The Verticalismus theory-movement is founded 1982 by the Greek painter Athanasio Celia in Munich. The Verticalismus is a contemporary art theory which is previous and identical to the later uprising "string theory" of physics (1984).According to this theory-movement the line is the first dimension in the universe (of course also in the mathematics and physics) and the vertical line is the most important line for the human beings because it shows us the direction of the gravitation on earth. This theory-movement was conservated in abstract contemporary art paintings (artwork oil on canvas with only vertical lines was exhibited in the museum of modern art in Munich) and also in sculptures.Further, according the Greek press, Verticalismus believes not only in the greatest and unique rule-axiom of the universe which is the gravitation (and created as its monument the abstract vertical line) but also that the first human artwork was a vertical line.
